1 gun still missing after shooting range break-in
Police are still looking for a gun stolen from an indoor shooting range in Grawn…a man smashed a door and stole 6 guns from Shooters indoor gun & archery range just after midnight Wednesday. The thief was captured on surveillance video, and was arrested after police identified him in a traffic stop-5 of the guns taken were found at his home…anyone with information on where the 6th one might be is asked to contact police.

A woman already serving time for larcenies committed in Oakland, Kalkaska, and Leelanau counties is facing additional charges in Grand Traverse County…Former financial planner Tashia Winstanley is accused of conducting a criminal enterprise-a 20 year felony charge, after numerous complaints from clients who say they were defrauded by Winstanley and TLW solutions. Reports say the amount of money taken could add up to more than a ¼ million dollars.

State says no to Sault Tribe casino in Lansing
The state has said No to the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians' request to build a casino in Lansing, claiming the project would be illegal...The Michigan attorney General's office says opening the proposed casino so far from the Tribe's reservation violates state and federal law-they're asking the US Department of Interior to consider the issue before making a decision on a trust application.

Senate votes to end teacher pensions
The Michigan Senate approved legislation today that would end pensions for new public school employees, a move that will save the state cash....but local school administrators say it could make attracting quality teachers a problem in Michigan.

Judges on the state appeals court say they will have a ruling as soon as possible, after hearing arguments from petitions asking to put Michigan's Emergency Manager Law on the ballot in November. The law gives state emergency managers the power to bypass collective bargaining and re-structure union contracts to cut costs.

Delmon Young picked up 3 rbis on a homerun and a two run double. Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder both added a rbi double apiece and Don Kelly brought home a run on a single. In a see-saw style scoring effort by both teams tied up the game at 6 to 6 up until the 5th inning when an rbi double by Miguel Cabrera put the Tigers on top. Jamie Carroll knocked out a two run double to push the Twins ahead and then the went ahead to add another a run in the 7th by Alexi Casilla. The Twins then finished off the Tigers with a 2 run homer by Trevor Plouffe on a pitch by Collin Ballester in the 9th inning. Starting Tigers' Pitcher Rick Porcello allowed 6 runs, 2 earned and 4 unearned runs on 6 hits in 4 innings of work. Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder both drove in a pair of runs apiece. The Tigers had taken the lead in the 1st inning, and it was a see-saw affair up until the 3rd inning when the game began to unravel for Detroit. In what appeared to be a blow out for the Tigers as they lead 10 to 2 up until the bottom of the 8th inning, that is when former Tiger Brandon Inge smoked a grand slam (his 2nd in 3 days) on a pitch from Collin Balester. The Tigers had begun the game with a homer in the first by Andy Dirks and then Detroit picked up an 8 run 3rd inning. Miguel Cabrera added a run in the 5th on a single for the Tigers . Max Scherzer earned the win in 6 1/3 innings giving up only 2 runs on 5 hits and struck out 9. Bartolo Colon took the loss for the A's in 2 1/3 innings of work he gave up 8 runs on 9 hits and had zero strike outs. Dirks went 4 for 4 for the night on the offense for Detroit.
