The village of Acme and the Meijer stores have paid a group of citizens some 75-thousand dollars. The money is hush money. The citizens had to agree not to sue over a contentious development and election law violations. The agreement signed does not admit guilt but rather it is a gesture of “goodwill” by Meijer and the village.
