The final score was 3 to 4.
The Red Wings took the early lead with 3 goals in the first period. Henrik Zetterberg started off the scoring rally followed by Valiterri Fillpula and then Zetterberg scored once more to give Detroit the early lead. The Kings answered back with 3 goals in the 2nd period. Alexander Frolon, Michal Hanzus and Ryan Smyth all pushed the puck passed Jimmy Howard. The Wings had 2 chances on power plays, but were unable to convert. The Kings got the go ahead goal with 2:21 left in the 3rd period on Michal Handzus second goal of the game.
