CT Power Plant Blast Kills 5 PDF Print E-mail

On Sunday, a major explosion rocked a Connecticut power plant killing 5 people and injuring several others. The blast occurred around 11:19 am ET and residents up to 20 miles away reported hearing the blast.  The power plant, which is currently under construction, was in the process of purging a natural gas pipeline.  Kleen Energy Systems, the owner of the plant, said the plant is gas fired, but can use other fuels.  State and federal investigators are on-site.
