NTHSA Investigates GM Fuel Gauges
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating 885 thousand General Motors SUVs beacuse of complaints about faulty fuel gauges. The investigation covers 2005 through 2007 model Chevrolet Trail Blazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Ranier and Saab 9-7x vehicles. NHTSA has received over 650 complaints alleging inaccurate fuel gauge readings. Several dozen of those complaints reported the vehicle stalling while the gauge indicated more fuel than was in the tank. One complaint reported an accident after stalling on the freeway.
