The Charlevoix Rayders Trounce The Kalkaska Blazers on Tuesday Night
The final score was 73 to 30.
The Rayders took a commanding lead in the first quarter of play, as Andrew Plude led the team with a pair of 3 point shots and a total of 12 points to give Charlevoix a 34 to 8 lead. The Rayders employed their man to man full court defense and made it nearly impossible for the Blazers to sink a shot. The Rayders increased thier lead to 49 to 10 at halftime. A running clock was implemented in the 3rd quarter just seconds into the game after Charlie Hamilton sank a 3 point shot. The Rayders then pushed their lead to 60 to 17 at the end of the third quarter. The Blazers did manage to pick up the pace on offense in the 4th quarter, but the Rayders chalked up their 3rd straight victory. Andrew Plude led the Rayders in scoring with a total of 16 points, Josh Hogan added 12 points and had 4 rebounds, Charlie Hamilton hit for 9 points and Tanner Kat managed 8 points in the effort. Charlevoix now stands 9 and 5 overall this season and 5 and 4 in the Lake Michigan Conference. The Rayders will take on the Grayling Vikings in Charlevoix on Friday night.
