The Northmen Capture The Win Over Ogemaw Heights on Friday Night In Petoskey

The final score was 66 to 37.

The Petoskey Northmen sewed up the Big North Championship for the 3rd season  in a row with the win over the Ogemaw Heights Falcons on Friday night in Petoskey.  The Northmen were slow to start up their offensive drive as they were tied at 7 to 7 with the Falcons after the first quarter.  The Northmen picked up the pace and imposed a man to man defense over  the Falcons and took a 26 to 13 lead at the half.  The Northmen were able to impose pressure on the Falcons guards and were able to sink easy baskets in the second half of the game.  Ogemaw Heights were unable to contain the Northmen offense with a 2-3 zone  in the 4th quarter and and Petoskey captured their 16th win of the season.  Zack Lewis led the Northmen in scoring with 21 points that included four 3 point shots and he managed to score all the points in the first quarter of play.  Jake Mullen scored 10 points in the game and Eric Davenport, Sam Baumgartner and Peter Kelbel all chalked up 6 points.  The Northmen will travel to the Sault  on Tuesday night to take on the Blue Devils who stand at 17-1 for the season.  Tune into the All New 1340 AM The Ticket at 7:15 pm to catch all the live play-by-play action with Brian Shaw and Steve Behan.
